Engine oil
We choose oil by your Subaru’s model year, engine, required viscosity and specification. For example, Liqui Moly lists Special Tec AA 0W-20 for applications calling for certain Subaru specifications; that does not make it the correct oil for every Subaru, particularly older or performance engines.
CVT fluid
Liqui Moly lists Top Tec ATF 1400 against several Subaru Lineartronic and High Torque CVT fluid specifications. We still verify the exact transmission and Subaru requirement before any CVT service. Fluid choice and procedure are as important as the brand on the bottle.
Differential and other fluids
AWD Subarus also have gear-oil, coolant and brake-fluid needs that vary by model. We choose products based on the required specification and the work being performed.
What about additives?
An additive is not a repair for a failing head gasket, overheating engine or damaged CVT. We may discuss a product when appropriate, but diagnosis and proper maintenance come first.
